The Vineyard

Leaving nature to travel its own course

Through the generations of practice and production before us, La Pievuccia’s vineyards are best known for the Sangiovese and Merlot grape, but it is also ideal for white varietals such as Chardonnay and Incrocio Manzoni.

The natural aspects of our farming are different every year, yet they give the same mark of our wonderful and distinct terroir.

We operate four vineyards totaling 5 hectares at various altitudes between 200-350 meters.  Our vineyards are 15 to 40 years old, all characterized by deep roots which explore the subsoil and are enriched with minerals.

The natural concept of terroir is exalted simply by leaving nature to travel its own course: the seasons, the rain, the wind and the sun give the fruit we produce, the taste of our hills. Pruning throughout the year and the selection of grapes during harvest is carried out strictly by hand.

Our total production annually is about 30,000 bottles which are sold directly here on the farm, in local shops and restaurants and distributed across Europe and The United States.
